The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model is a next-generation mesoscale numerical weather prediction system designed to serve both operational forecasting and atmospheric research needs. It features multiple dynamical cores, a 3-dimentional variational (3DVAR) data assimilation system, and a software architecture allowing for computational parallelism and system extensibility. WRF is suitable for a broad spectrum of applications and across scales ranging from meters to thousands of kilometers.

Datasets for WRF

We keep an updated version of WPS Geog dataset on Raijin under /projects/WRF/data/WPS_GEOG
We also keep the data to run the January 2000 WRF tutorial under /projects/WRF/data/JAN00
We do not keep any other datasets specifically for WRF use. You may be able to use some of the RDSI datasets already stored at NCI or you will have to bring your own dataset.
